Pricing

How much does it cost?

Prices are generally quoted per tester and are inclusive of GST. You can get started with our basic Impression Test, which is completed by 3 user testers at a total price of $129 (that's only $43 per tester!).

Our most popular usability test for small business owners is the Litmus Test which starts from only $49 per tester (for 5 testers). For design agencies and corporate customers our most popular test is the Pro Test which starts at $39 per tester.

When you select your test type you will then be directed to choose the volume of testers - the more testers you choose the lower the cost per tester.

What is your refund policy?

We completely own the promise of providing a service that provides articulate website feedback and survey metrics. All we ask is that you own your own choices. If you feel that we have in any way not performed to our commitment then we will promptly have another tester complete your job at our expense.

How UI works

How easy is it to start a web usability test?

Visit our plans and pricing page to select the type of test you wish to perform then follow our easy test setup wizard. By using our inbuilt usability testing template you'll have a test ready to go within minutes.

What can I test?

Most web assets can be tested - anything from websites, web applications, Facebook pages, landing pages and even your competitor's web assets. Our testers will interact with your site and complete most non-financial tasks. You can request testers sign up for an account via your site and even test your shopping cart process, however, testers will generally use dummy contact details to ensure their privacy is maintained.

Please note that usability testers will not purchase products at their own expense so the testing of shopping carts may be limited to all but the payment process. Please contact us if you have specific requirements regarding financial transactions.

What do I get?

You get a fully narrated video of each tester using your site, complete with mouse movements and scrolling, written answers to your feedback questions, along with aggregated usability metrics. The usability metrics vary according to the test type you select. Learn more about our usability test types here.

What's the difference between 'standard' and 'customised' questions?

All tests come with pre-populated fields based on our customers most asked questions and user metrics. With the Litmus Test and Pro Test you can customise the questions to suit your own needs.

How do I control what type of testers are selected?

You control the makeup of the testing panel by selecting criteria such as gender, age group, annual household income, education level, employment type, internet expertise and web usage preferences. Only testers that meet your criteria will be selected. For faster results keep your targeting broad.

Who is the usability testing panel?

Our usability testing panel is made up of everyday internet users who are keen to provide feedback to website owners, application designers and marketers. They are not usability experts as such, however they do spend more time evaluating websites and applications than the average person. They are paid about $15 AUD for every complete test they do, irrespective of the test type.

All of our usability testing panel are vetted by us prior to completing paid tests. They must submit an application and only testers that get positive feedback from our clients are retained on our panel.

Getting results

How long does it take to get results?

That varies somewhat based on the depth of criteria you select. Many of our panel are able to do testing on demand. Simple tests with broad selection criteria will facilitate getting feedback much faster...within hours even.

How many user testers should I use?

We recommend an absolute minimum of three and for more comprehensive results about five to ensure you get a conclusive sample. Much has been written about testing sizes and validity. Read our website usability guide to find out more about the optimal number of usability testers

If you are need usability metrics around function, visual design, information design and site objectives then you need to select our Pro Test to get the data you need.

What questions should I ask?

How this compares

Why do website owners, designers and agencies use this?

Put simply, this is the quickest and cheapest way to get unbiased feedback from the people who count the most - real users.

Whether your website is a b2b lead generation site, advertising based news site, a b2c ecommerce site, or anything in-between, getting feedback from users can help you optimise your current site for improved conversions or be an integral starting point for a re-design.

Agencies and designers tend to use this to get high quality usability metrics in a short time without having to recruit focus groups or testing participants.

Many of our clients will test their competitors website to gather valuable competitive feedback too!

How does this differ to moderated usability studies?

Unlike moderated user studies, our users are everyday people conducting these tests in the comfort of their own surrounds, not in a manufactured environment. Apart from the huge cost savings this means you get access to a wider pool of testers, on demand. No recruitment, no hiring of 'usability experts', no testing lab hire. What you do get is fully narrated video of testers using your website and letting you know their innermost thoughts.
